Alicia Thandazile 's Story My journey into the realm of coding began with a spark of curiosity that ignited during my high school years. I was just in grade 10 and had just watched a movie about a girl who hacked a security system. I then became interested and started researching about coding and the world of computer science. I thought my interest would be short lived, but it grew deeper to a point where I started researching ways I could break into the tech world. Intrigued by the intricate dance of logic and creativity that coding promised, I delved into online tutorials and coding challenges. The ability to command machines and bring ideas to life through lines of code fascinated me, and I soon realized the immense potential that lay within the world of programming. Witnessing the tangible impact of coding in everyday life, from mobile apps simplifying tasks to sophisticated algorithms powering innovations, made the fire in me burn even stronger . The prospect of being at the forefront of technological advancements and contributing to solutions for real-world challenges became a driving force. As I explored diverse coding languages and projects, the thrill of problem-solving and the continuous learning inherent in coding solidified my decision to pursue a computer science degree. But due to lack of knowledge and funds, I settled for something more safer. I was just a little village girl after all. The dream did not die though, and as I grew older I realised that there is still hope for me. I realised that the little village girl could quench the thirst that’s been burning her for so long. This journey is not merely a career choice; it's a commitment to being a part of the ever-evolving landscape of innovation. I am drawn to the challenges, the creativity, and the endless possibilities that coding offers, and pursuing a computer science degree is the next logical step in my quest to make a meaningful impact through code.
